Dear Mollie, I love this post so much. It is so easy for the hustling artist to get caught up in the hustle and I hope that this encourages others to stop and think about how they're expending their energy to put their art into the world, and whether it actually benefits and furthers what their present goals are. I have had a similar conversation with myself that led to deleting my Etsy account awhile back. And I am thrilled to say that I recently "sold" my entire original set of yoga chakra paintings (remember those? So long ago) to the yoga studio owner here in exchange for a class apiece! For my purposes, it was much more satisfying to make this trade than to struggle with Etsy sales; I am glad I waited for the right opportunity to get the most out of the original art! Harvest blessings on your next endeavors!
Awe thank you for your kind words. I have also been inspired over the years by seeing people make decisions like this. I know I'm spread too thin but I'm trying to figure out bit by bit what to cull, what to do less frequently, and what to put on the back burner. That's wonderful that you made that trade and feel good about it! It sounds like a win-win. Sometimes I'm just happy to give stuff away and move on.
Real Sun sq Saturn vibes here.
wow Kim, truer words have not been spoken.
